Name Origin:

Name derived from the railroad sign at the crossing of U.S. Route 60 and the railroad. The sign, in turn, marked the site of the Mack Ross Coal Company, established prior to 1920.

History:

This community was originally referred to as the Riverside Addition of Rainelle. It was the site of the Lincoln Mine and the Mack Ross Coal Company. It is also the home of the local Royal Crown Bottling Company.

Greenbrier Grade School (established c.1925, later consolidated with the East Rainelle Grade School)
