Name Origin:

Named for Quin Morton and Walter S. Wood, prominent coal operators at the time.

History:

Quinwood was a coal mining community established by the Imperial Smokeless Coal Company. Significant growth of the town began when WV Route 20 was built between Charmco and Richwood in 1923.
