ALDERSON - Fred W. Counts, 81, died Monday, Jan. 26, at a Fairlea hospital of natural causes.
Born Sept. 9, 1905, at Gap Mills, he was the sons of the late Oliver and Louie Hutchinson Counts.
Mr. Counts was a World War II veteran, a retired coal miner and a member of the Alderson Veteran of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Marjie Phipps Counts; three stepdaughters, Juanita Counts of Meadow Bridge, Bonnie Dotson of Lambertsville, Mich, and Virginia Falls of Sinks Grove; two sisters, Minnie Amick of Baltimore, Md., and Mary Campbell of Elton; three brothers, Plummer Counts of Canvas, Lantie C[o]unts of Leivasy and Ballard Counts of Russellville; 17 stepgrandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home Chapel in Rainelle. Burial will be in Wallace memorial Cemetery in Clintonville.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
