John Clayton Frantz
John Clayton Frantz died July 15, 1999, at age 78. No service will be held.
Mr. Frantz was born Aug. 2, 1920, in Dawson, W.Va. He was raised and educated in West Virginia and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army. He lived in the Washington County area since 1948. He was a finish carpenter for Mike Thoen Construction Co. until retiring in 1964. He lived in Vernonia since 1987. In 1960, he married Ida M. "Sandy" White.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Ronald and Robert, both of Hillsboro; daughters, Barbara Spence of Ashwood and Virginia Cook of Newport; stepsons, Andy Perkins of Cornelius and Jesse Dains of Great Falls, Mont.; brothers, Jason of Waynesville, Ohio, and Harold of West Virginia; sisters, Claire Osborn of West Virginia and Evelyn Roberts of Hillsboro; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Disposition was by cremation. Arrangements are by Westside Cremation Service.
