McCLUNG, Mrs. Caroline Elizabeth - Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Calfee Funeral Home at Beckley by the Rev. Hilbert McClung. Burial will follow in Calfee Cemetery at Mt. Tabor. Mrs. McClung, 81, of Sprague, Raleigh County, died Tuesday at her home after a long illness. A native of Ansted, she was a member of the Beckley First Baptist Church. Surviving are five sons, Leslie of Wentworth, N.C., John of Alexandria, Va., Emery of Lancaster, Pa., Harold of Chicago, and Ray of Norfolk, Va.; seven daughters, Mrs. Mary Mullins of South Point, Ohio, Mrs. Sarah Vandall of Akron, Ohio, Mrs. Gladys Lewis of Sprague, Mrs. Violet Stover of Prosperity, Mrs. Helen Diggs of Evanston, Ill., Mrs. Cora Cochran of Metalton, and Mrs. Gayla Campbell of Baltimore; two brothers, Charles Cheetham of Hinton and Frank Cheetham of Bluefield, Va.; four sisters, Mrs. Polly Hunt of Piney View, Mrs. Sarah Byer of Huntington, Mrs. Liza Chambers of Bluefield, Va., and Mrs. Irene Itier of Stanaford; 44 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Cardie married Park Walker McCLUNG, son of Cyrus Rupert "Rupe Hinton" McCLUNG and Rebecca Ann CRANE, on 25 Dec 1900 in Greenbrier Co., WV.374 (Park Walker McCLUNG was born on 1 Nov 1866 in Greenbrier Co., WV,95,375 died on 13 Jan 1949 in Beckley, Raleigh Co., WV 375 and was buried on 15 Jan 1949 in Calfee Cemetery, Mt. Tabor, Raleigh Co., WV 375.). The cause of his death was cerebral hemorrhage.
