  General Notes:

Joseph Walkup, Sr. served in Capt. Andrew Bryan's Co., Virginia Militia from 13 Dec 1812 to 1 Apr 1813. He was drafted at Lewisburg in Capt. Solomon Taylor's Co. and marched under him to Point Pleasant where he was transferred to Capt. Andrew Bryan's Co. and was later discharged at Fort Meigs, OH. He received a bounty land warrant for 160 acres of land in 1855 (#28019). He received a pension of $8/month beginning on 11 Sep 1872.
