RAINELLE - William Edward Shearer, 90, of Rainelle died Aug. 3, 1997, in Morris Nursing Home, Victor, after a long illness.

He was a retired miner and Protestant.

Surviving: daughter, Ina Mazey of White Sulphur Springs; sister, Elizabeth Gordon of Oak Hill; brother, Jim Shearer of Charlton Heights; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle, with the Rev. Ben Gurley officiating. Burial will be in Martin Cemetery, Crag. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Bill married Jessie Erma OSBORNE, daughter of Renick Elvin OSBORNE and Lona Catherine MARTIN. (Jessie Erma OSBORNE was born in 1900 in Greenbrier Co., WV,²⁶² died on 19 Aug 1985 in Rainelle, Greenbrier Co., WV ⁷⁴ and was buried on 21 Aug 1985 in Martin Cemetery, Crag, Greenbrier Co., WV ⁷⁴.)
