SPRINGDALE (RNS) - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday for Joseph Marian Sims, 79, Springdale, who died at 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
Rites will be held at the Springdale Baptist Church with the Rev. Hobart Quesenberry and the Rev. Harold Kincaid officiating. Burial will follow in the Lowry Cemetery, Springdale.
He was a retired farmer, a member of the Springdale Baptist Church, and was the son of Charles A. and Nancy Osborne Sims.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Daisy Lowry Sims; one brother, John A., Rainelle; two sisters, Mrs. Hettie Tincher, Rainelle; Mrs. Leona Sanford, Meadow Bridge; two sons, Berley L. and Joseph Ray, Springdale; one daughter, Mrs. Georgia Hilda Sanford, Rainelle; 14 grandchildren, and 10 grandchildren.
Joseph married Catherine "Katie" ?. (Catherine "Katie" ? was born in 1873 in WV,163 died on 22 Feb 1899 in Sewell Valley, Greenbrier Co., WV 549 and was buried on 23 Feb 1899 in Sewell Valley, Greenbrier Co., WV 549.). The cause of her death was puenperal fever.
Joseph next married Daisy LOWRY, daughter of Abraham L. LOWRY and Minnie A. FLESHMAN. (Daisy LOWRY was born in Nov 1895 in Spring Dale, Fayette Co., WV,79 died on 16 Aug 1976 in Hilltop, Fayette Co., WV 74 and was buried on 19 Aug 1976 in Lowry Cemetery, Simms Mountain, Fayette Co., WV 74.)
