GRAYDON - John Wheeler Dixon Sr., 66, of Graydon, Fayette County, died Friday in General Division, CAMC, after a long illness.
He was a lifelong resident of the Graydon area and was a member of Ansted Baptist Church and Masons. Mr. Dixon was a retired employee of Union Carbide at Alloy.
Surviving: wife, Nyra; daughters, Mrs. Bobbie Ford of Ansted, Mrs. Ann Smith of Mobile, Ala., Mrs. Jean Burgess of Montgomery; sons, John Jr. of Ansted, Eddie of Marquette, Mich., Steve of Hammond, Ind.;
sisters, Mrs. Beulah Burns of Spring Dale, Mrs. Avis Hash of Annaheim, Calif., Mrs. Elsie Kyle of Inglewood, Calif., Mrs. Aleen Cline of Corona, Calif.; brothers, Charles Dixon of Lansing, Eugene Dixon of Bellflower, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday in Ansted Baptist Church with the Rev. Boyd Sparks and the Rev. Pete Hoge officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Restlawn Memory Gardnes, Victor. Friends may call after
6 p.m. Sunday at Wallace-Wallace Funeral Home, Ansted.
John married Eula I. TINCHER, daughter of Harvey Edgar TINCHER and Effie May OSBORNE. (Eula I. TINCHER was born on 15 Feb 1922 in Oroville, Butte Co., CA,125,565 died on 5 May 1951 in Lansing, Fayette Co., WV 565 and was buried on 7 May 1951 in End Of The Trail Cemetery, Clintonville, Greenbrier Co., WV 565.). The cause of her death was epidermoid carcinoma of cervix.
