WALKUP, MRS. GERTRUDE M. service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wallace-Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle, with the Rev. Leroy Crane and the Rev. J.D. Surbaugh officiating. Entombment will be in Wallace Memorial Mausoleum, Clintonville. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m today at the funeral home. Mrs. Walkup, 73, of Rainelle, died Saturday at home after a long illness. She was a member Sewell Valley Baptist Church and was a registered nurse. Surviving: daughter, Theresa Johnson of Rupert; son, Maxwell Richard Walkup of Big Springs, Texas; sisters, Bonnie Helling of Martins Ferry, Ohio and Madeline Ray of Walbridge, Ohio; two grandchildren.
Gertrude married Maxwell "Mac" WALKUP, son of George Washington WALKUP and Lorena CRANE. (Maxwell "Mac" WALKUP was born on 26 Oct 1904 in Crawley, Greenbrier Co., WV,267 died in Sep 1976 55 and was buried in Walkup Cemetery, Kieffer, Greenbrier Co., WV.)
