RAINELLE \emdash Gene Tunney Osborne, 83, of Rainelle, formerly of Clearco, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2012, following a long illness.
Born October 17, 1928, in Crichton, he was the son of the late Dewey L. and Jessie L. Walkup Osborne.
Gene was retired from the U.S. Navy and was a member of the F.R.A. and N.A.U.S.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Ruth Osborne, in 2005.
Survivors include two daughters, Teresa L. Blackwood of Norfolk, VA, and Jane Polacek of Bradenton, FL; two sons, Michael G. Osborne of Orlando, FL, and Darrell G. Osborne of Winter Park, FL; one sister, Maxine Permenter of Mt. Nebo, WV; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2012, at the Wallace Memorial Mausoleum in Clintonville, with military funeral honors.
