Dorothy Mae Burns, 86, of Layland, passed away Monday, Dec. 3, 2007.
Born March 20, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Nora Woolwine.
Dorothy loved and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Monroe Berry; second husband, James Marvin Burns; four brothers and one sister.
Those left to cherish her memory include daughters, Sandra Ritter and husband, Gary, of Danese, W.Va.; Elizabeth Fine and husband, Ronnie, of Richmond, Va.; Virginia Morris of Layland, W.Va.; son, Randy Woolwine and wife, Carol, of Oceana, W.Va.; granddaughters Tara Dodson and companion, Danny Adkins, and son, Xavier; Rhonda Banks and husband, Billy; Lori Fine; grandson Shaun Ritter and wife, Melissa; six great-grandchildren, Dustyn, Michael, Leanne, Ashley, Nicky and Holly Mae.
Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with the Rev. Glen Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Friends may gather with the family Thursday noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.
