Rainelle Man Takes Life With Shotgun
RAINELLE - A 70-year-old Greenbrier County man died of a self-inflicted wound, state police said here today.
The body of Charles Claude Martin, a retired farmer, was found yesterday by a nephew in an abandoned house across the street from his home at Vale.
Police said he died of a shotgun wound of the chest.
He is survived by his wife, Ora.
Service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Don Smathers Funeral home here, with the Rev. Roy B. Kessler, officiating.
Burial will be in the Frantz Cemetery at Dawson. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
Charley married Ora Susan HILL, daughter of Clifton HILL and Melledela Lafayette "Lafe" CRANE, on 26 Nov 1935 in Rupert, Greenbrier Co., WV.40 (Ora Susan HILL was born on 15 Mar 1894 in Vale, Greenbrier Co., WV,55,1805,1806 died on 11 Sep 1981 in Hillsboro, Pocahontas Co., WV 55,269 and was buried in Frantz Cemetery, Dawson, Greenbrier Co., WV.)
