KIEFFER - Mrs. Bessie Jane Scruggs, 88, of Kieffer, Greenbrier County, died Saturday in Greenbrier Valley Hospital.
She was a lifelong resident of Kieffer and a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving: daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Robinson of Lewisburg and Mrs. Kathryn Neff of McRoss; sons, Lonzoe of Williston, S.C., and Carl of Nitro.
Service will be 2 p.m. Monday in Beaver Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Leroy Crane officiating. Burial will be in Wallace Memorial Cemetery. The body is at Smathers Funeral Home, Rainelle, where friends may call after 5 p.m. today.
Bessie married Samuel Vincent "Vince" SCRUGGS, son of William Johnston SCRUGGS and Ruth HEASTER, on 25 Nov 1902 in Greenbrier Co., WV. The cause of his death was acute cerebrovascular accident.
