EAST RAINELLE (Special) - Mrs. Bertha Mae Crane, 70, of this Greenbrier county town, died late Monday at Ronceverte after a long illness.
The Rev. Joe E. Brown and the Rev. P. E. Orndorff will conduct funeral services tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the Orient Hill Baptist church near here, and burial will be in the church cemetery with Nickell mortuary in charge.
The body is at the mortuary and will be taken to the residence of a son, Granville W. Crane here tomorrow at 4 p.m. and to the church shortly before the service.
Survivors: Two other sons, Noel of Marmet and Orville of East Rainelle; three daughters, Mrs. Noka Bowyers of McRoss, Mrs. Wilma Farley of Rainelle and Mrs. Hazel Meadows of Marmet; a brother, John Nutter of Erie, Pa., six sisters, Mrs. Fannie Williams of Rupert, Mrs. Pearl McClung and Mrs. Elsie O'Dell of Quinwood, Mrs. June Sutterfield, Mrs. Laura Roberts and Mrs. Ethel Cavenor of Modesta, Calif.; 22 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Bertha married Ladura Wesley "Dewey" CRANE, son of Cyrus A. CRANE and Nancy "Nellie" WASHINGTON, in 1901.841 (Ladura Wesley "Dewey" CRANE was born on 9 Feb 1879 in Bellburn, Greenbrier Co., WV,842,843 died on 1 Jul 1942 in Charleston, Kanawha Co., WV 842 and was buried on 3 Jul 1942 in Orient Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Orient Hill, Greenbrier Co., WV 842.). The cause of his death was adenocarcinoma of stomach with metastasis.
