FAIRLEA - Victor Harold Burks, 74, of Fairlea, Greenbrier County, died Saturday in Greenbrier Valley Hospital, Fairlea, after a month-long illness. Born in Summers County, he had lived in Fairlea for seven years. He attended Miller Memorial Methodist Church and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Surviving: daughter, Mrs. Jo Lynn Ball of Lewisburg, Mrs. Bonnie Ellison of Princeton. Service will be 1 p.m. today in E.M. Meadows Funeral Home, Hinton, with the Rev. Harold Elmore officiating. Burial will be in Hilltop Cemetery.
Victor married Mary Catherine SHAWVER, daughter of Dr. Laviro V. SHAWVER and Catherine Florence McCLUNG. (Mary Catherine SHAWVER was born in 1911 in Fayette Co., WV 480 and died on 4 Oct 1970 in Lewisburg, Greenbrier Co., WV 66.)
