Stanley Rogers Succumbs At 56

EAST RAINELLE (RNS) - Stanley Matthew Rogers, 56; of East Rainelle died Sunday night at his home after a long illness.

Born Aug. 23, 1911, at Lick Creek, he was the son of Mrs. Laura Alice Lawrence Rogers of Bellepoint and the late Dorsey M. Rogers.

He was a member of the Sewell Valley Baptist Church and a retired miner.

Other survivors include his wife, Margaret May Kelly Rogers; two daughters, Mrs. Gloria Dixon and Mrs. Doris Bolen, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Hallie Foster of Bellepoint and Mrs. Ruby Wallace of Flint, Mich.; four brothers, Ray of Kessler, Garland of Hines, Cyrus of Kettering, Ohio, and Dorsey, Jr. of Dumfries, Va.; and six grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the Amwell Baptist Church at Rupert with Rev. Pearlie Orndorff and Rev. Fred Dillon in charge. Burial will be in the Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville.

The body will be taken to his home at 4 p.m. today from Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in East Rainelle.


Stanley married Margaret Mae KELLY, daughter of Samuel Sanders KELLEY Sr. and Maxie Jane HUNTER, on 21 Jun 1963 in Charmco, Greenbrier Co., WV.40 (Margaret Mae KELLY was born on 31 Dec 1922 in Lewisburg, Greenbrier Co., WV,40,55 died on 30 Sep 2004 in Fairlea, Greenbrier Co., WV 55,68 and was buried on 4 Oct 2004 in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville, Greenbrier Co., WV 68.)
