W.T.Highlander Dies Of Injuries
ALDERSON, Oct. 15 ? Rites are complete for Alfred Theodore Highlander, 50, who died Tuesday morning in a Ronceverte hospital, of injuries received in an accident Monday afternoon. He was a resident of Muddy Creek Mountain near Alderson.
Highlander, an employe of the Acme Limestone Plant at Snowflake, was crushed when a section of rock from the top of the mine fell.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Glenna Phillips Highlander; three sons, William, Rodney, and Dexter; and two daughters, Misses Doris Jean and Anna Mae, all of Alderson. He is also survived by three brothers, Charles, Floyd, and Allen; his step-mother, Mrs. Nellie Highlander, and two half-sisters, Misses Lillian and Dorothy Highlander, of Alderson.
Funeral rites will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the New Community Church on Muddy Creek Mountain near Alderson, by Rev. Schofield. Burial will follow in the Phillips cemetery.
The body will be removed from the Wallace and Wallace Mortuary at Lewisburg to the residence at 5 o'clock Thursday afternoon.
