MRS. LENA L. SMITH, 83, OF Rainelle, Greenbrier County, died Dec. 17, 1989, at home after a long illness. She was a homemaker and a member of Big Sewell Baptist Church. Surviving: son, Donald of Rainelle; sisters, Lola Westlake and Merly Collison, both of Rainelle; seven grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Smathers Funeral Home, Rainelle, with the Rev. Jack Stafford officiating. Burial will be in WALLACE MEMORIAL CEMETERY, CLINTONVILLE. FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Lena married Carl E. SMITH, son of Joseph Harvey SMITH and Mary Jane SIMS. (Carl E. SMITH was born on 26 Nov 1905 in Spring Dale, Fayette Co., WV,115 died on 16 Aug 1959 in Rainelle, Greenbrier Co., WV 30 and was buried on 18 Aug 1959 in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville, Greenbrier Co., WV 115.). The cause of his death was generalized carcinomatosis adeno carcinoma pancreas.
