GUY AMATO, 57, 513 Maxwell Hill Road, Democrat candidate for councilman-at-large; employed as an agent for Home Insurance, graduate of Woodrow Wilson High school and West Virginia University; veteran of World War II having served with the United States Army Air Corps; born March 10, 1917 at Winding Gulf; is the chairman of the Beckley Democratic Executive Committee; was campaign chairman for the Democrats in the city election in 1971; was chairman of the city beautification committee and the cleanup campaign in 1961; served on the planning and zoning commission; he and his wife, Irma, have one son, Samuel Thomas.

Guy married Irma Lee McGUIRE, daughter of Thomas Andrew "Tom" McGUIRE and Susie Jane SIMS, on 2 Sep 1962 in Beckley, Raleigh Co., WV.⁴⁷⁰⁶

Bridal Shower Honors Local Girl To Be Married Today

The Civic Room of the Bank of Raleigh was the scene Thursday for a bridal shower honoring Miss Irma McGuire.

Miss McGuire will be married today to Guy Amato of 513 Maxwell Hill Road. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. A. McGuire, Harper Road and her fiance is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Amato, Pemberton.

Hostesses for the affair were Mrs. E. E. Kenney, Mrs. D. C. Triggs and Mrs. J. P. Lannan.

The gift table was covered with a white linen cloth and centered with an arrangement of red roses and white chrysanthemums with greenery. The serving tables were covered with white linen cloths and featured pink tapers in crystal holders with china and silver appointments.

Attending were Mrs. E. E. Kenney Jr., Mrs. Johnny Scott, Mrs. Wilbur Cook, Mrs. Jimmy McGuire, Mrs. W. W. West, Mrs. Charles Arnott, Mrs. Sam S. Evans, Mrs. J. B.
