Slate Falls; Greenbrier Man Killed
RICHWOOD - A Greenbrier County miner died in an accident at the Donegan Coal and Coke Co. mine near here Tuesday.
Jesse James Redden, a machine operator, was killed in a slate fall. Another man, Darrell Copen, 19, of Crichton, was admitted to Sacred Heart Hospital here for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident. He was reported in good condition.
REDDEN, 31, was a resident of East Rainelle. He was a member of Grandview Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Zada; two daughters, Jeannie and Joyce Ann, at home; one son, James Richard Redden, at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Redden of Coal City.
Jesse married Zada INGRAM, daughter of Robert Lee INGRAM and Zola Jane SIMMS. (Zada INGRAM was born on 17 Aug 1932 55 and died on 23 Sep 2000 in Bradley, Raleigh Co., WV 55.)
