Emogene Ruth Jackson, 78 years of age, of Summersville died Thursday, August 12, 2010, in the Nicholas & Rehabilitation Center at Richwood. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Waitman and Ruth Adkins McClung and was born at Richwood April 26, 1932.
She was a former housekeeper, Stonewall Jackson employee and homemaker. She was a member of the Beulah Baptist Church at Muddlety.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy; son, Dennis James Jackson; brothers, Benny, Denny, David, Buster and Sonny McClung; and sisters, Geraldine Byram and Ernestine Ragland.
Surviving: Daughter Linda Bays; Daughter-in-Law Debra Jackson; Brother Delmas "Skip" McClung, all of Summersville; Sister Eileen Humphrey of Gordonsville, Virginia; 4 Grandchildren, Teresa (Jamie) Jones, Stacy (Andy) Taylor, Angela (Dave) Johnson and Amanda (Eric) Workman; 7 Great-Grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at 1 p.m. in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery at Glade Creek with Pastor Howard Harper officiating.
The Waters Funeral Chapel in Summersville is in charge of arrangements.

SUMMERSVILLE ? Rev. Edward Lester officiated at the wedding of Miss Ernestine McClung and Ray Perkins, at his home on
Daniel Street, Tuesday evening, March 31.
The bride, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Waitman McClung of Summersville, has been employed by Perk's Restaurant. Her husband an employe of the Nicholas County Farmer's Co-op, is a son of Mrs. Lena Brashear of Westernport, Md. and the late Mr. Brashear. The couple will reside in the McClung apartment on Church Street.
