Thomas Shawver Dies In Hospital
GRASSY MEADOWS (RNS) - Thomas B. Shawver, 85, died at 3:30 a.m. Thursday in a Ronceverte hospital after a long illness.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Maude Chapel Church.
Born in Nicholas County, Nov. 25, 1875, he was a son of the late John Shawver and Leida Boley Shawver.
His wife, Lemona Frances Livesay Shawver, preceded him in death.
Survivors include a brother, William Shawver of Akron, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Anna McCallister of Illinois and Mrs. R. H. Witt of Rupert; a son, Roy Shawver of Alderson; a daughter, Mrs. Noah Frantz of California; 14 grandchildren; and 28 greatgrandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Maude Chapel Church with the Rev. J. Holliday and the Rev. Edward Milem in charge. Burial will be in the Maude Chapel Cemetery.
The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the funeral from Lobban Funeral Home in Alderson.
Pallbearers will be Curtis, Cletus, and Everett Shawver, Pike Fletcher, and Eugene and John Witt. Ladies of the church will carry flowers.
