DAMERON \emdash Gale P. Martin, 80, of Dameron, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at a Charleston hospital due to an extended illness.
He was born May 25, 1919, in Greenbrier County, to the late Phil and Mattie Kennison Martin.
He served in the Air Force, was a member of the U.M.W.A. and was a farmer who also loved to feed his birds and deer. He was a Christian.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Garland and Lockie; a sister, Virginia; and one daughter, Laura.
Gale is survived by a sister, Glenna of Charleston; seven children; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special caregivers, Ronnie Martin and Jane Davis; numerous nieces and nephews; staff of Hilltop Nursing Home, who made his last years happy and comfortable, and numerous friends and neighbors.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel, Rainelle. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.

Gale married Virginia Ellen LOWE, daughter of Lewis Pal LOWE and Margie Carrie PHIPPS, in Aug 1959 in Clifton Forge, Alleghany Co., VA.1012 (Virginia Ellen LOWE was born on 14 May 1935 1012.)
