RUPERT ? Lucille Hall Taylor, 95, passed away quietly on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at Heartland of Rainelle nursing home following an extended illness.

Born June 19, 1910, on the family farm at Amwell (which is now a part of Western Greenbrier Junior High School), she was a daughter of the late John Allen and Mae Winebrenner Hall.

She was a lifelong resident of Rupert, residing at Autumn Way Personal Care Home for two years before going to Heartland of Rainelle for the past nine months.

Mrs. Taylor graduated from Smoot High School, Alderson Junior Academy and Alderson-Broaddus College, receiving a B.A. degree in elementary education in 1931. She taught in several one- and two-room schools, such as Marfrance, Nutterville, Russellville, Crawley and Rupert Elementary. After retiring in 1975 with 42 years of teaching, she enjoyed doing yard work and taking care of her beloved dogs. She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Kanawha Chapter No. 38 in Montgomery, a member of the Greenbrier County Retired Teachers Association, a member of Amwell Baptist Church for many years and a 4-H leader in the Crawley area.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin Taylor, in 1966; two sisters, Margaret (Hall) Gilmore and Ann (Hall) Hunter; a brother, George Robert ?Bob? Hall; and stepmother, Mollie (Deitz) Hall.

Survivors include a daughter, Jonna Fran Taylor of Rupert; a very special niece, Janice (Hunter) Dodd and husband, John Jr., of Lewisburg; a very special nephew and niece, Ronald Hunter and wife, Doris, of Dublin, Va., and Anava MacKay and husband, John Sr., of Woodbridge, Va.; and several great- and great-great-nieces, nephews and cousins from the Hall, Winebrenner and Taylor families.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville, with the Rev. Robert Newman officiating. Burial will follow.

White flights will be released at the graveside service. There will be no evening visitation.
