Funeral services for Mrs. Ora J. Simms, 79, 106 Reservation Ave., will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lilly Valley Baptist Church, Rainelle, with the Rev. Harry Zicafoose officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Rainelle.
Mrs. Simms died at 2:30 a.m. today at the residence of a daughter, Mrs. A. T. McGuire, 106 Reservation Ave., after a brief illness.
Born June 8, 1885, at Craig in Greenbrier County, a daughter of the late Cooper and Adeline Smith Tincher, she was a member of the Lilly Valley Baptist Church.
Her husband, John Andy Simms, preceeded her in death in August 1956.
In addition to her daughter, she is survived by a stepdaughter, Mrs. Bruce Sanford, Rainelle and a brother, Festus Tincher, Graydon; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The body will remain at the Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle, until it is removed to the church one hour prior to the service.
Ora married John Andy SIMS, son of Charles Andrew SIMS and Nancy Jane OSBORNE, in 1903.255 (John Andy SIMS was born on 11 Nov 1878 in Dennis, Greenbrier Co., WV,16,32,550 died on 7 Aug 1956 in Rainelle, Greenbrier Co., WV 550 and was buried on 9 Aug 1956 in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville, Greenbrier Co., WV 550.). The cause of his death was hypertensive cardiovascular disease.
