ALONZO RICHARD MURPHY, 90, OF Richwood, died Sept. 17, 1989, in a Fairlea hospital after a long illness. He attended Jettsville United Methodist Church. He was a retired farmer and timberman. Surviving: daughters, Mrs. Virginia Counts of Smoot, Mrs. Helen Yeager of Summersville, Mrs. Rosalie Judy of Hernshaw; sons, Alvin Murphy of Smoot, James Murphy of Cowen; sisters, Laura Casto of Nettie, Maggie Bays of Lewisburg; 26 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Wallace-Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle, with the Rev. James Lucas officiating. Burial will be in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
