HINTON - Thomas Guthrie Rodes, 85, of Hinton died Sunday in Summers County Hospital, Hinton, after a short illness. He was a 62-year resident of Hinton. Mr. Rodes was a former employee of Railway, retiring as a conductor in 1965. He was a member of the...
Surviving: wife, Zama Akers Rodes; daughter, Mrs. Evangeline Payne Smith of Lexington, Ky.; brother, Gooch of Lake City, Fla.; sisters, Mrs. Guelph Taylor of West Covina, Calif., Mrs. Goldie Sandefer of Huntington, Mrs. Ercelle Donnally and Mrs. Axson Ceperley, both of Charleston; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Ronald Meadows Funeral Home, Hinton, with the Rev. Everette Easley and the Rev. D. B. Elwell officiating. Burial will be in Restwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m.
