MOUNT NEBO ? Jennings Owen Dorsey, 66, of Mount Nebo, Nicholas County, was dead on arrival Thursday at Summersville Memorial Hospital of an apparent heart attack.
He was a farmer and a member of Hickory Grove United Methodist Church.
Surviving: wife, Tessa; sons, Russell and Johnny, both of Travelers Rest, S.C., Romeo, William and Jennings, all of Mount Nebo; daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Huffman of McRoss, Mrs. Ada Todd and Mrs. Bonnie Hawkins, both of Greenville, S.C., Mrs. Mary Ellen Rittenhouse of Morgantown, Mrs. Betty Thompson of Canvas; stepsons, Waldo McWharter of Canvas, Peter Havlacek of New York City, Andrew Dorsey of Mount Nebo; stepdaughter, Mrs. Marie Amick of Rupert; sister, Mrs. Gertrude Backus of Mount Nebo; 36 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in White Funeral Home, Summersville, with the Rev. Albert Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Mount Nebo. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Jennings married Tessa GILLESPIE, daughter of Norban Noel "Dock" GILLESPIE and Ella Lois BUCKLAND. (Tessa GILLESPIE was born on 21 Apr 1912 in Greenbrier Co., WV,55 died on 23 Sep 1990 in Rupert, Greenbrier Co., WV 55 and was buried in East View Cemetery, Crag, Greenbrier Co., WV 64.)
