Mattie McDaniel Dies In Hospital
Mrs. Mattie Susie McDaniel, 62, of Crab Orchard, died Monday in a local hospital following a long illness.
Born March 1, 1910, she was the daughter of the late William and Sallie Smith Osborn.
She had been a resident of Crab Orchard for the past three years.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Marie Bowles of Crab Orchard; one son, Howard Jr. of Sprague; two brothers, Theodore and Jess Osborn, both of Crab Orchard, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Chestnut Knob Community Church at Layland with the Rev. Roy Tyree presiding and burial will follow in the Layland Cemetery.
The body is to be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.
Mattie married Howard Walter McDANIEL Sr. on 16 Jul 1928 in Lewisburg, Greenbrier Co., WV.4887 (Howard Walter McDANIEL Sr. was born in 1904 in Alleghany Co., VA 4887 and died before 1972.)
