MOUNTAIN BROOK, Ala. - Paul Shelbourne Bishop, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003.
Paul was born in Scarbro, W.Va., on Nov. 18, 1934. He attended Greenbrier Military School and graduated from the University of Alabama, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
Paul was retired from his own business as a manufacturers' representative.
He was a longtime member of Mountain Brook Presbyterian Church. At the time of his death, he served on the Board of Directors of Cross Creek Park.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Bishop Griffith.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Connie Burke Bishop; his daughters, Susan Williams and husband, Scott of Mountain Brook, and Marilyn Pointer and her husband, Ed, of New Orleans, La.; grandchildren, Gordon Williams, Emily Williams, Sam Williams, and Andrew Pointer and Shelby Pointer; a brother, William C. Bishop of Sanford, N.C.; a sister, Carolyn Thornhill of Daniels; five nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, at Mountain Brook Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Brook Presbyterian Church, 3405 Brookwood Road, Mountain Brook, Ala., 35223, or New Beacon Hospice, 2145 Highland Ave., Birmingham, Ala., 35205.
Arrangements are by Charter Crematorium Society and Funeral.
