Sara Catherine Hunter

Sara Catherine Hunter passed away July 14, 2014, at home in North Bend with family by her side.

Sara was born July 3, 1943, in Montgomery, Ala.

Sara supported her husband as he made a career in the U.S. Air Force. This allowed for Sara and her family to travel and to live in interesting locations such as Yokota, Japan. Once Billy retired from the Air Force, the couple chose to settle in North Bend where she then devoted 20 years to assisting the practice of Dr. Malcom at Bay Area Clinic.

In retirement, Sara loved spending time gardening, volunteering her time with a local school, doting on her pets, enjoying the outdoors with her sportsman husband, and spending time with her daughter and her family. Her generosity and kindness will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sara is survived by Leslie "Billy" Hunter, her husband of 54 years; daughter, Beverly and son-in-law, Steve Gillaspie of Barrow, Alaska; and granddaughters, Ashlee, Emilee and Abby all of Seattle, Wash.

Sara was preceded in death by her parents, William David and Jimmie Olean Brightwell; and her daughter, Leslie Annette Hunter.

Sara will be laid to rest beside her daughter, Leslie Annette at Ocean View Memory Gardens.
