Chilton Delbert Brown, 72, of Nettie entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Wednesday, July 26, 2006, to be with his family.
Born Nov. 5, 1933, in Quinwood, he was a son of the late Clarence Gilbert and Laura Murphy Brown.
Mr. Brown was a longtime resident of Nettie. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956 with a tour in Korea. Honorably discharged, he then attended Morris Harvey College, Charleston, and Malone College in Ohio. He worked for the U.S. Department of Forestry.
Survivors include one son and his wife, Stuart and Carrie Brown of Nettie; one special grandson, Logan Delbert Brown, whom he loved dearly; and many nieces and nephews in West Virginia, Ohio and Maryland of whom he was equally fond.
Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, July 30, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle, with the Rev. Willie Bailes officiating. Burial will follow in the Fields Cemetery, Nettie.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
