INEZ, Ky. \emdash Roy Edgar Wiseman of Inez, formerly Hinton, W.Va., went to be with the Lord May 15, 2011 at Community Hospice Center in Ashland, Ky.
Born Feb. 25, 1944 in Hinton, he was the youngest child of the late Clarence and Opal Keffer Wiseman.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Una Kathleen Wiseman.
Roy was a graduate of Hinton High School, class of 1962, where he played football. After graduating from WV Tech in Montgomery, W.Va., he taught for a short time then started in the mining business. He retired from Laurel Creek Coal Mine, Dingess, W.Va., where he had worked for several years.
He is survived by his dear wife and caregiver, Billie Hatfield Wiseman of Inez; sons, Todd (Krista) Wiseman of Montgomery, W.Va., and Bobby (Missy) Hatfield of Sidney, Ky.; daughter, Amy (Mark) Cook of Forest Hills, Ky.; grandchildren, Jarret and Jacie Wiseman of Montgomery, W.Va., Courtney and Kaylee Hatfield of Sidney, Ky., and Taylor and Grayson Cook of Forest Hills, Ky.; brothers, Ashby Wiseman and Bud Wiseman of Hinton; sisters, June Wiseman and Geneva (Bill) Willey, all of Hinton, and Ruby Pearl (Phil) Young of Milton, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Warfield, Ky. and on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 from noon to 2 p.m. at Pivont Funeral Home, Hinton, W.Va.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Pivont Funeral Home, Hinton, with Reverend Ronnie Cobb, a school friend, officiating. Burial will follow at The Wiseman Family Cemetary in Hinton.
