McROSS - Basil Eugene Osborne, 63-year-old retired miner of McRoss, Greenbrier County, died yesterday in the UMW hospital at Beckley after a long illness.
He was a member of UMW Local 9108 of East Rainelle.
Surviving are his wife, Cleo; two sons, Basil E. Jr. of Orient Hill and Martin E. of Charleston; six daughters, Mrs. Irene Workman of Clearco, Mrs. Pauline Wiggins and Mrs. Frances Corrin, both of Charleston, Mrs.
Opie Carroll of Quinwood, Mrs. Mildred Copen of McRoss and Miss Alice Osborne at home; his mother, Mrs. Lona Osborne of East Rainelle; a brother, Robert of East Rainelle; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Fleshman and Mrs. Erma Shearer, both of East Rainelle, and 14 grandchildren.
Services will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the McRoss Baptist Church with the Revs. Joe E. Smith and Pearly Orndoff officiating. Burial will be in the End of the Trail Cemetery under the direction of the Nickell Funeral
Home of East Rainelle. The body was to be taken to the residence at 4 p.m. today.

SERVICES SET TODAY FOR BASIL OSBORNE
MCROSS, Jan. 7 (RNS) - Funeral services for Basil Eugene Osborne, 63, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the McRoss Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe E. Smith and the Rev. P. E. Orndorff in charge. Burial will be in the End-of-the-Trail Cemetery.
Osborne died at 9:15 a.m. Monday in a Beckley hospital.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Wiggings, and Mrs. Frances Corron, both of Charlestown, Md., and 17 grandchildren.
The body was removed from Nickell Funeral Home in East Rainelle to his home at 4 p.m. today and will be taken to the church one hour prior to the funeral.
Pallbearers will be Darris Copen, Kenna Loudermilk, Wesley Smith, Cary Osborne, Summers Kenney, and Cal Ruggles. Member of the Ladies Bible Class will carry flowers.
Basil married Ada Cleo MARTIN, daughter of Charles Gilmore MARTIN and Lydia Alice THOMPSON, on 1 Sep 1915.
