Albert Jackson Hess, 63, of 516 26th St., Dunbar, died Monday at Thomas Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
He was a former owner and manager of the Rupert Supermarket, Rupert, Greenbrier County. He was a retired guard employed by Union Carbide, Institute Plant, after 22 years service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dunbar, and a resident of Dunbar for 23 years. Mr. Hess was a native of Greenbrier County.
Surviving: wife, Mary Ethel Hunter Hess; son, Curtis Hess of West Chester, Ohio; daughter, Mrs. Janet Dixon of Nitro; half-brother, Richard Rose of Rupert; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Laird L. Fain officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park in Dunbar.
