MEADOW BLUFF \emdash Julia Price Judy, 97, of Meadow Bluff, went to her heavenly home Wednesday, July 14, 2010, in the Brier Rehab Center at Fairlea following a long illness.
Born on November 4, 1912, at Caldwell, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ida Scruggs Price. Mrs. Judy was a homemaker and a member of the Soule United Methodist Church at Meadow Bluff.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Allen W. Riffey and Ross Albert Judy; 4 brothers, Samuel, Elmer, Emmett and Ira Price; and 4 sisters, Mary Price, Goldie Castle, Dora Price and Alice Jones; and stepchildren Arvella and Ralph Bennett, Sis and Cleo Clemmons, Mae and Melvin Bennett, Millard (Punch) and Pansy Judy and Lawrence Judy.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son David Riffey and wife Janet Dale of Meadow Bluff; her daughter Cindy Backus and husband Dwight of Rainelle; 2 sisters, Jane Persinger of Tennessee and Margaret Price of Caldwell; 4 grandchildren, Sherri Baker, Gregory Riffey, Vivian Davies (Sean) and Jonathan Riffey (Ashley Underwood); great-grandchildren Adam Roberts, Amanda and Autumn Canfield, Justin, Aaron and Ryan Riffey, Taylor, Nicholas and Mikayla Davies and Nathan Blankenship; stepgreat-grandchildren Matt and Chad Underwood, Mike Judy, Jerry Bennett and others; and great-great-grandchildren Mirissa Underwood, Syler Means and Ayden Blankenship.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 17, at Smathers Funeral Chapel in Rainelle with Pastor Larry Walker and Pastor Roy Gwinn officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosewood Cemetery at Lewisburg.
Friends may call one hour before the service from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Julia married Gilbert Ross JUDY, son of Gilbert J. JUDY and Leona R. POLLOCK. (Gilbert Ross JUDY was born on 10 Nov 1893 in Greenbrier Co., WV, died in 1975 and was buried in End Of The Trail Cemetery, Clintonville, Greenbrier Co., WV.)
