FALLS CHURCH, Va. ? Margaret Ann Hines, of Falls Church, Va., died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at 3:53 p.m., in INOVA Fairfax Hospital, after a short illness.

Born June 8, 1935, at her parents? home in Hines, Greenbrier County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Pansy J. McClung Hines and the late Luster Damon Hines.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Arlamae Pansy Hines Patterson; brothers, Ordie Eldon Hines and Robert Edwin Hines; as well as her nephew, Robert Eldon Hines.

She is survived by her devoted son, Donald Damon Hines of Falls Church, Va.; a sister, Alberta Kathleen Hines Patterson; a sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Manning Hines George; nieces, Ruby Gail Hines Baldwin, Deborah Jean Patterson Graham, Martha Jane Patterson Hicks and Linda Kay Patterson Raines; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Margaret graduated from Rupert High School in 1953. She later moved to Charleston, W.Va., where she established a career in the insurance industry and created a warm and loving home for her son. In 1986, she moved to northern Virginia, where she built on her experience and prior successes as a Commercial Lines Account Executive. She retired in 2005 at the age of 70 after more than 50 years in the work force.

Margaret enjoyed traveling, reading and time spent with her family and friends. Throughout her life, she asked for nothing, yet gave so much of herself to others. Her son is her crowning achievement and was the joy in her life. She was without a doubt the best mother in the world. Her compassion for people, caring nature and wisdom will be missed beyond measure by those who knew her.

Her son would like to especially thank Marissa Moe, RN, BSN; Dr. Gordon H. Hafner, Dr. Shitel Patel, Dr. Richard C. Webb (US Army) of INOVA Fairfax Hospital for their efforts during her illness.

A visitation will be noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Rainelle, W.Va. The service will follow immediately with the Rev. Houston Booth officiating. Interment will be at Wallace Memorial Cemetery in Clintonville, W.Va.
