BECKLEY May 30 - Funeral services for Mrs. F. M. Walkup, 88 years old, who died Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Muncy, in East Park will be held at the Big Clear Creek Greenbrier church Sunday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment will be held in the nearby family cemetery.
Mrs. Walkup was born in Greenbrier county July 23, 1847. She frequently related incidents of the Civil war which she had witnessed while living at Clintonville. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Muncy, Mrs. Laura Hurt, Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Maggie Lawn, W.Va., E.S. Walkup, C.C. Walkup and Henry Walkup, all of Ramp; Lester Walkup, Blue Sulphur, and L.A. Walkup, Conway, Ia.
A brother, Nathan Price of Rupert, and a sister, Mrs. Jane Hazlett of Clintonville are also living.
Flora married James Arthur WALKUP, son of James (Vachub) WALKUP and Elizabeth HEDRICK, on 18 Feb 1868 in Greenbrier Co., WV. (James Arthur WALKUP was born on 8 Mar 1844 in Greenbrier Co., VA,72 died on 11 Jul 1889 in Greenbrier Co., WV 72,526 and was buried in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Big Mountain, Greenbrier Co., WV.). The cause of his death was consumption.
