Skaggs Rites Slated Thursday

HUGHART, Sept. 17 (RNS) - Alexander Sanford "Sandy" Skaggs, 74, died early this morning at his home.

He was the last surviving member of his family.

His wife, Sarah Flossie Kelly Skaggs, preceded him in death.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Sinking Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Hobert Quesenberry in charge. Burial will be in the family cemetery.

The body will be removed from Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg to the residence at 4 p.m. Wednesday, and will be taken to the church one hour prior to the funeral.

Sandy married Sarah Flossie KELLY, daughter of John Edward KELLY Sr. and Mary Susan KINCAID, on 2 Jan 1924 in Greenbrier Co., WV.²⁶³⁹ (Sarah Flossie KELLY was born on 3 May 1891 in Greenbrier Co., WV,²⁶⁴⁰ died on 25 Feb 1957 in Ronceverte, Greenbrier Co., WV ³⁰ and was buried on 28 Feb 1957 in Skaggs Cemetery, Hughart, Greenbrier Co., WV ⁷⁴.). The cause of her death was cerebral hemorrhage.
