CHARMCO - Charles A. Williams, 99, of Charmco, Greenbrier County, died Nov. 25, 1998, in Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea, after a long illness.
He was a retired schoolteacher with 46 years' service, a farmer, and a former employee of Ford Motors Co., Detroit, and Meadow River Lumber Co.
Surviving: daughters, Velma Alley and Patricia Williams, both of Charmco; sons, Richard and Galen Williams, both of Rainelle, Jack Williams of Rupert, Robert Williams of Cincinnati, James Williams of Charleston; 23 grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle, with the Rev. Houston Boothe officiating. Entombment will be in Wallace Memorial Mausoleum, Clintonville. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Charles married Carrie Virginia McCLUNG, daughter of Charles Edward McCLUNG and Rebecca Jane CALLISON, on 21 Apr 1923 in Rupert, Greenbrier Co., WV.3444 (Carrie Virginia McCLUNG was born on 31 Aug 1906 in McClungs, Greenbrier Co., WV,60 died in Feb 1983 in Charmco, Greenbrier Co., WV 55 and was buried in Wallace Memorial Mausoleum, Clintonville, Greenbrier Co., WV.)
