WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS -- Linda F. Harper-Mines, 55, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, in Greenbrier Valley Medical Center at Fairlea as a result of an automobile accident that afternoon on Route 60, west of the town of White Sulphur Springs.
Born at Crawley on July 25, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Houston Neal and Mazie Bennett McClung.
She was of the Protestant faith, a homemaker, enjoyed reading and loved to travel on tours over the country.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur O'Dell.
Survivors include her beloved husband, James S. Mines. The couple had only been married recently and he was also in the accident with her. Other survivors include a daughter, Wendy Halsey, and her husband, Emmanuel, of Roanoke, Va.; a son, John Harper at home; a stepson, Richie Lee Mines and his wife, Tracy, of White Sulphur Springs; two sisters, Helen Osborne and her husband, Don, of Covington, Va., and Jeanne Morris of Walkersville, Md.; a grandchild, Kaliyah "Sweet Pea" Halsey; and four stepgrandchildren, Tr/ and Calissa Moore and Wayne and Ryan Gerrall.
Service will be noon Monday in the Chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home, White Sulphur Springs, with the Rev. Ben Gurley officiating. Friends may call 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be private for the family at a later date.
