HINES \emdash Curtis James McClung, 56, formerly of Rupert, W.Va., died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at his home, following a short illness.
Born March 8, 1953, at Smoot, W.Va., he was the son of the late Houston "Huse" and Mazie Bennett McClung.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Lina Harper Mines, and a nephew, Richard "Richie" Tincher.
Curtis enjoyed Greenbrier West basketball and was an assistant scorekeeper for the team for several years. He enjoyed reading, watching TV, and spending time with his dog, Princess.
Survivors include two sisters, Jean McClung Morris of Taneytown, Md., and Helen Osborne and husband, Don, of Covington, Va.; two nephews, Keith Tincher and John Harper; and four nieces, Wendy Halsey, Kathy Thomas, Angela Maurer and Cyrena Bennett.
Private services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at Wallace Memorial Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Bill Cruse officiating. Friends and extended family may call one hour prior to the service at the Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.
Special "Thanks" goes to his dear neighbors, Howard and Georgia Scruggs, who were his caretakers.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to The Union Mission Church of Hines, WV 25958.
