MAPLEWOOD - Verna Lue Harrah Price, 98, of Maplewood died Oct. 23, 2000, in a Beckley hospital after a short illness.
She was a former schoolteacher and grocery store owner, a homemaker and a member of Layland Baptist Church, Meadow Bridge Senior Citizens and Eastern Star Chapter 135, Danese.
Surviving: daughter, Clella Smith of Danese; granddaughter, Sue Pugh of Maplewood; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle, with the Rev. Adam Hanshew officiating. Burial will be in End of the Trail Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where there will be an Easter Star service at 7.
Verna married Dewey H. PRICE, son of Russell Andrew PRICE and Lorena "Rena" REMLEY. (Dewey H. PRICE was born on 14 Apr 1902 in Greenbrier Co., WV,46 died on 22 Jan 1976 46 and was buried in End Of The Trail Cemetery, Clintonville, Greenbrier Co., WV.)
