MOUNT LOOKOUT - Doris E. Halstead, 78, of Mount Lookout, W.Va., died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, in the King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
She was the daughter of the late Aldine and Tabitha "Bithy" Patton McClung and was born at Mount Lookout Jan. 3, 1925. She was a retired secretary from Seneca Mental Health Services in Summersville, W.Va., and a member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church at Mount Lookout.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fleming C. Halstead in 1975; one daughter, Corky Halstead; and great-grandson, Noah Sparks.
Surviving: son, Kenneth Halstead of Huntington, W.Va.; daughter, Letha Sparks of Ashland, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Lexa, Craig, and Wesley Halstead, Jacob, Cindy, Matt, and Larry Sparks.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at 11 a.m. in the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church at Mount Lookout with Pastor Mark Secrist officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Waters Funeral Chapel in Summersville from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening.
