LEWISBURG ? Patricia ?Patty? McClung Nemitz, age 53, of Lewisburg passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at her residence.
Mrs. Nemitz was born Sept. 2, 1955, in Charleston, W.Va., and was the daughter of Earnestine Hedrick McClung of Lewisburg and the late Dr. Eugene McClung.
Patty was a lifelong resident of Lewisburg and was a graduate of Greenbrier East High School and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from the Medical College of Virginia.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Church in Beckley, a former dental hygienist and a consultant with Mary Kay. She was a member of the PEO Sisterhood, Chapter V; a former Girl Scout leader and a former Sunday School teacher.
Patty was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to many. She courageously battled illness with dignity and grace. She lived her life fully in spite of numerous challenges and is an inspirational example of God?s love and faith. She will be missed by all who knew her ? May her memory be eternal!
Other than her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, David McClung, D.D.S.; paternal grandparents, the Rev. Ross and Glenna Trout McClung; and maternal grandparents, Lacy Gordon and Ada O. Burdette Hedrick.
Survivors include her husband, James ?Jim? W. Nemitz, Ph.D.; her mother, Earnestine Hedrick McClung of Lewisburg; a daughter, Julianna (Christopher Ryan) Nemitz Quick of Harrisonburg, Va.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard (Ann) McClung, D.D.S. of Lewisburg, Debra McClung of Lewisburg, George (Janine) Nemitz of Pennington, N.J. and Lorraine (Bob) Ciarfella of Kinnelon, N.J.; three nieces and four nephews; and caregivers, Brenda Zimmerman and Sue Wilson
Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 211 S. Heber Street, Beckley, W.Va., with the Rev. Samual Haddad officiating. Internment will follow 1:30 p.m. at the Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg.
Friends may call 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, and 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home, where a short Prayer Service will be held at 8:30 p.m.
