Man dies after truck falls on him in Fayette County
FAYETTE COUNTY - The Fayette County Sheriff's Department is investigating a death that happened in the Maplewood area. Loran Jones, age 66, of Danese was killed in what Deputies said is an apparent accident Tuesday afternoon (7/22).
According to a press release from Fayette County Sheriff Steve Kessler, Jones had apparently been working on a truck that was elevated on blocks when the jacks shifted and the vehicle fell onto him, pinning him underneath the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The initial investigation indicates that this was just a tragic accident," said Sheriff Kessler. "This accident does not appear to be drug or alcohol related and there is no indication of foul play at this time." This incident remains under investigation by Sergeant J.R. McMullen of the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
