RAVENCLIFF \emdash Clarence Billy McClung, of Ravencliff, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011, at the Plateau Medical Center. He was 83 years of age.
One of six children, Billy, as he was affectionately known all his life, was born on March 7, 1928, at Mt. Lookout. He was the son of the late Jack and Laura McClung. His sisters, Blanch Demsey and Elberta Holcomb, and brother, Nash McClung, have preceded in death.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Billy entered service at Camp Lee, Va., at the age of 20. He was stationed in Germany. Billy was a retired truck driver.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Virgie McClung; he was the dear father of three daughters, Brenda Goss of Glen Rogers, W.Va., Alesia Burgess and husband David of Glen Rogers, Tammy Goodwin and husband David of Virginia. A granddaughter, Heather Goodwin of Virginia; a sister, Freda Deitz of Mt. Lookout, and a brother, Johnny (Mac) McClung.
When we his family remember Billy, we recall a man who enjoyed reading the Bible and was a very caring and generous person. He had a really humorous personality, was always joking and acting silly.
On Sunday, July 31, 2011, at 11 a.m. we will remember the life of Billy McClung with a Memorial Service at the Ravencliff Ministry. John Cresong will be officiating. In keeping with his wishes Billy was cremated. May He Rest in Peace.
