Greenbrier Man Dies; Rites Set
MEADOW BLUFF (RNS) ? Clarence Sylvester Osborne, 88 of Norfolk, Va., formerly of Meadow Bluff, died Monday at his home.
He was a son of the late Andy A. and Frances Jones Osborne.
He was a member of the Sewell Chapel United Methodist Church at Meadow Bluff, a retired coal miner and farmer and had lived at Norfolk for about 12 years.
Survivors include three sons, Robert E. and Clyde E., both of Norfolk, Va., and Cary of Palm Bay, Fla.; five sisters, Mrs. George Henderson of Rupert, Mrs. Sadie Drennen of Gordonsville, Va., Mrs. Ora Callison of Wayco, Texas, Mrs. George Hunter of McRoss and Mrs. Lacy Fleshman of Beckley; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Wallace and Wallace Chapel in Rainelle with Rev. Ray Perkins in charge. Burial will be in the End-of-the-Trail Cemetery at Clintonville.
The body will remain at the funeral home where friends may call after 5 p.m. today.
Clarence married Lena E. HEASTER, daughter of Johnston Reynolds HEASTER and Abigail Frances CALLISON, on 24 Dec 1902.48 (Lena E. HEASTER was born on 30 Jul 1878 in Greenbrier Co., WV 48 and died in 1904 48.)
Clarence next married Minnie M. BURNS. (Minnie M. BURNS was born in 1876 in Greenbrier Co., WV,88 died on 3 Dec 1958 in Rupert, Greenbrier Co., WV 30 and was buried on 5 Dec 1958 in End Of The Trail Cemetery, Clintonville, Greenbrier Co., WV 74.). The cause of her death was cerebral hemorrhage, hypertension.
