Obituary -- Barry Branner Kirby
GOLDSBORO, N.C. -- Barry Branner Kirby, 61, passed away last Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Barry was born Nov. 25, 1946 in Staunton, Va., to the late Alton and Irene [sic] Kirby.
Barry was a retired insurance agent with Combined Insurance Co. He served his country in hte United States Army.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where he attended with the Rev. Bill Ordelt presiding.
Barry is survived by his wife, Rhonda "Randie" McAleer Kirby; his daughter Lori Gilboy and husband, Tim of Pittsburgh, Pa.; His sons Chistopher Barron and partner Shawn Gardner of Washington D.C., Jason Barron and wife, Kendra, of Cary and Barry B. Kirby II and wife, Ashley, of Charlotte; and his grandchildren, Devyn and Courtney Barron. Obituary -- Beatrice Marie Crookshanks Beitz
Beatrice “Bea” Beitz , 90, of Rupert, died in her home on Thursday, July 4, 2019 surrounded by her family, and her caregivers.
She was the daughter of Burr and Pauline Evans Crookshanks.
She was a bookkeeper for Beitz Trucking, worked at Rainelle Krogers, and was a supervisor at the Tent Factory.
She was a member of Bascom United Methodist Church of Rupert and a past member of Rupert Junior Women’s Club. She also loved to go bowling, enjoyed crafts, gardening, and yardwork.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Julian Wesley Beitz, on Nov. 3, 2008; her parents; a sister, Mary Catherine Scruggs; and brothers, Burr “Junior” Crookshanks, Ralph Crookshanks, and Dayton Ray Crookshanks.
She is survived by her son, Donald E. and wife, Betty D. Crookshanks of Rupert; nieces, nephews, and extended family; caregivers Connie Reel, Alice Holland, and Mona Murphy. The family sends a special thanks to the nurses at Kanawha Hospice Care at Fairlea and Dr. Connie Anderson and her nurses.

Obituary -- Benjamin Lamar Little
BENNY LITTLE, 82, was released from this world to the next on Wednesday, June 25, 2008.
A native of Birmingham, AL, he lived in Shively, KY for over 50 years. He was a member of Shively Christian Church, where he served as a church elder for over 40 years and where he forged a lifelong friendship with Virgil and Virginia Tapp.
He retired from the Defense Mapping Agency, where he worked for 30 years and was an avid gardener and scholar.
Benny is best known by many for his quiet and servant-led life. A very private man, he would shy away from the accolades that could easily fill volumes. But those whose lives he touched know he personified the word gentleman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Eugie (*nee Parsons) Little; and his bride of 53 years, Luella Little. Those he left to carry on his legacy include his four children, Laura Lee Davis (Hugo), of Elizabethtown, KY, Brian Lamar Little (Kim), of Laurel, DE, Lynn Marie Stewart, of Nicholasville, KY and Brent Little, of Louisville; his grandchildren, Christopher (Danielle) and Leandra Rice, Amanda, Zachary and Sydney Little and Dustin Wayne and Shain Marie Stewart; and great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Isabella and MadaLynn. He is also survived by his beloved sister, Linda (Phil); brothers, Roy and Fred (Elise); and a number of nieces and nephews.
We will celebrate his life at 1 p.m. Saturday at Foreman's, 10600 Taylorsville Road, Jeffersontown, with interment at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be held 2-8 p.m. Friday.

Berta S. Farris, 95, of Mount Pleasant, died Saturday, May 25, 1996, at East Cooper Hospital.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, May 28, 1996, at 4 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of J. Henry Stuhr Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant Chapel.
Mrs. Farris was born April 24, 1901, in Lake City, a daughter of John Wilson Scurry and Sallie Graves Scurry. She attended Lake City schools and was a Baptist.
Mrs. Farris was the widow of Bethel Richardson Farris. She was a retired sales lady at Kerrison's Department Store.

Obituary -- Bessie Reynolds Crane Johnson
Rupert -- Mrs. Bess Crane Johson, 102, died Saturday, Septemebr 8, 1990, in a Ronceverte hospital, following a short illness.
Born Septemebr 7, 1888, at Rupert, she was the daughter of the late Dexter T. Crane and Cora Moses Crane.
Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker, and was retired from the Greenbrier County Board of Education. She was employed by Rupert High School and was a member of the Bascom United Methodist Church of Ruipert.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Alden Johnson, a son John Alden Johnson [Jr.], a brother, James Crane and a sister, Leda Hall.
Survivors include a grandson, Mike Johnson and wife Shelby of Charleston; a granddaughter, Mrs. John (Jeanne) Attilli of Beckley; three great-grandchildren, Amy Johson, and Marion and Nicky Attilli, and several nieces and nephews.

Obituary -- Bethel Richardson Farris
Bethel Richard Farris, 63, accountant of 21 College St., Charleston, formerly of Georgetown died late Sunday night at his home after an illness of three years.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Mayer Funeral Home Chapel with Dr WH Clapp pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Farris was born April 21, 1892 in Baltimore and was a son of the late Dr. Hugh Alfred and Berta Richardson Farris.
The family moved to Georgetown when he was a small boy and he attended the schools of Georgetown. He graduated from a business college in Baltimore and worked for Dunn and Bradstreet there for several years. He later returned to Georgetown County and worked for a bank in Andrews and for the old Atlantic Coast Lumber Corp.
For a number of yeras he worked with the Carolina Grocery Co. and moved to Charleston in 1941 to work for Mr Hornik and Co. as an accountant. Ill health forced his retirement several years ago.
Surviving are his widow the former Miss Berta Scurry; two sons, Bethel R Farris and Frank Hugh Farris of Los Angeles Calif; five daughters Mrs H. L. Babson Jr., Mrs. Gene Woodberry and Miss Mae Farris of Charleston, Mrs. J. E. Parler of Cindad Taipello, DR and Mrs. E. D. King of Kingston. Betty Carol Woodyard, 53, of South Vienna, formerly of Albany, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at Community Hospital, Springfield, following a brief illness.
The daughter of the late Howard T. and Blanche Reeves Woodyard, she attended Beacon School from its opening in 1957 for several years. She recently resided at Sharonview Nursing Home, South Vienna.
She is survived by her brother, Charles Woodyard of Westerville, Ind.; two sisters, Katherine Eckerle of Miamisburg and Linda Klyne of Carmichael, Calif.; 12 nieces and nephews; and several grand-nieces and nephews.

Obituary -- Beulah Carr Smith Withrow
RUPERT -- Beulah "Boodie" Withrow, 84, died Tuesday, March 9, 1993, in a Fairlea Hospital following a long illness.
Born Aug. 26, 1908, at Big Mountain, Rupert, she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Laura McClung Smith.
Mrs. Withrow was a lifelong resident of Rupert, a member of Big Clear Creek Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Withrow in 1983.
Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie Osborne of Rupert and Laura Sevy of Corliss; a son, James Ronald Withrow of Crawley; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.

Beulah M. Walkup, 93, of Lookout passed away on February 5, 2020.
Born on January 23, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Robert Moses and Maude Stokley Moses.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Richard (Windy) Walkup; daughter Claudia Kay Simms, sister Delora (Sal) Fink, and a brother, Bert Moses.
Beulah loved to cook; having cooked at Divide Elementary, Midland Trail High School and Camp Washington Carver. She also loved to mow her grass to perfection.

Obituary -- Beverly Charlene Anderson McComas
Beverly C. McComas, 65, wife to Jim McComas for forty seven years, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 in Lexington, KY. She was born July 17, 1953 in Richwood, W. VA to the late Leon and Florence McClung Anderson.
Beverly was a former member of Safe Harbor Baptist Church and a member of Bluegrass Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, reading, basketball games, watching westerns, and loved her dogs. Beverly enjoyed wearing hats and was known as “The Hat Lady”, but most of all she loved her grandchildren. Beverly worked as a bookkeeper for 20 years with the Traxx’s Company in Georgetown and Lexington.
In addition to her husband, Beverly is survived by her son, Scott McComas, and daughter Amy (Joey) Southworth, all of Georgetown, KY, grandchildren, Nick McComas, Madison Southworth, Tanner Southworth, Sydni McComas, and Trent Southworth. Beverly is also survived by her sister, Linda Waybright of La Pine, OR.

Obituary -- Blanche Corine Reeves Woodyard
ALBANY--Blanche Reeves Woodyard, 83, of Miamisburg, formerly of Albany, died Monday, May 15, 1995, after a brief illness.
Mrs. Woodyard received a teaching certificate in 1930, and taught school in Meigs County and Columbus until 1936. She helped found and was a board member for Beacon School in Athens, and was a member and deaconness of Alexander Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Linda) Klyne of Carmichael, Calif., Mrs. William (Katherine) Eckerle of Miamisburg, and Betty Woodyard of South Vienna; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Betty Lou Woodyard of Westville, Ind.; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; a sister, Alice Luckett of McArthur; a brother-in-law and his wife, James and Eileen Woodyard of Athens; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Cade and Ellan Hartman of The Plains; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard T., in 1982; and a grandson.

Bonnie Mae Hunter, 63, of Asbury, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at her home following a long illness.
Born February 5, 1955, in Ohio, she was the daughter of Mildred Dixon Martin of Bellwood and the late Basil Martin.
Bonnie worked for B&B’s Hilltop Mart and in the cafeteria at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center. She was of the Pentecostal faith and loved watching the Jimmy Swaggart Ministry Channel; she loved shopping, crafting, and her animals.
In addition to her father, Bonnie is preceded in death her grandson Nikki Lee Clutter.
Survivors, including her mother, and her loving husband of 27 years, Wyatt Hunter; 3 daughters Elisa Handlin (Robert) of Maryland, Stacy Davis of Virginia, and Megan Martin (Joshua) of Renick; 6 sisters Nola Craig (Hollis) of Alderson, Frankie Castle of Charmco, Mary Redden of Charleston, Julia Lilly of Rupert, Hattie Redden of Beckley, and Patty Groves of Bellwood; 5 grandchildren Brandon Cahoon, Christopher Blankenship, Sabyn Clutter, Lillyahna Martin, and Jozilyn Martin; and a host of extended family and friends.

Obituary -- Boyd Fay McClung
Boyd Fay McClung went to be with Jesus peacefully on June 12, 2009, surrounded by his family.
Born Sept. 8, 1925, in Snow Hill, Nicholas County, he was a lifelong resident of West Virginia, residing in Nicholas, Kanawha and Putnam counties.
He attended St. John United Methodist Church, Scott Depot. He graduated from Nicholas County High School and attended West Virginia Institute of Technology.
He served in the Navy during World War II. He worked at Union Carbide/Rhone Poulenc and retired in 1991.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Lena McClung; parents-in-law, Orval and Velma Green, all of Nicholas County. He was also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Cecil Stewart; and son-in-law, Gary Metzger.
Surviving: wife of 58 years, Wilma G. Obituary -- Brenda Joyce Crane Cash
RUPERT - Brenda Joyce Cash, 72, of Rupert, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015, in the CAMC General Division Hospital, following a short illness.
Born June 15, 1943 in Greenbrier County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Laura Stout Crane.
Brenda was a loving mother and homemaker. She enjoyed her dogs, gardening, watching westerns and sci-fi movies. Brenda was a generous woman who loved the spirit of all the holidays.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Clarence Cash; a daughter Joyce Ann Cash; two brothers Robert (Bobby) and Dennis Crane; a sister Glenna Cochran; and two step children Jimmy and Toni Cash. Survivors include her daughter Laura Bennett and husband Bob of Bradenton, Fla.; three sons James Cash and wife Heather, David and Johnny Cash, all of Rupert; two step children Jackie Cash and Faye Ferguson and husband James, all of Bedford, Va.; one brother Cody Crane of Illinois; one sister Charlotte Crane of Rupert; seven grandchildren Rob Bennett, Kayla, J.J., Tiffany, Zoey, Josh and Jared Cash; and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Beitz was a loving mother and wife. She was a Girl Scout leader in Beckley for nine years, and was manager of Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts in Beckley.
She was of the Baptist faith.

RAINELLE -- Brooks C. Johnson, 74, died Thursday, April 18, 1996, at his home following a long illness.
Born June 8, 1921, at Rupert, he was the son of the late Brooks Flem Johnson and Margie Johnson Wasalchalk.
Mr. Johnson was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a retired crane operator on construction work.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Lillian Elaine Johnson Arent and Cynthia Ann Johnson and a granddaughter, Heather Marie King.

Obituary -- Buren Harold Robinson
Rupert, WV Buren "Harold" Robinson, 69, of Rupert, West Virginia, passed away Monday afternoon, August 4, 2014, at his home following a short illness. Born July 9, 1945 in Rainelle, WV, he was the son of the late Van Buren and Macel Gay Robinson.
Harold was a retired coal miner with 32 years of service and was a proud member of the UMWA and of the Baptist faith. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved gardening, ancestry, raising honey bees and collecting all types of antiques.
He enjoyed spending time on the front porch "shooting the bull" with his buddies. He was a caring man, who always provided for his family. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 49 years Eleanor "Red" Hinkle Robinson, his daughter Teresa Robinson Richmond and her husband Bill of Rupert, sons, Harold "Lee" Robinson and fianc?© Letha Harper of White Sulphur Springs, Allen Robinson and wife Jessica and Billy Wayne Robinson all of Rupert. John Turner was the son of Shadrack Turner and his wife Ann Pollard Turner.
John Turner married Elizabeth Price in Franklin County, Va.
John served as Captain in the Revolutionary War, serving under Col. Penn's Battalion, Campbell's Regt., Virginia Militia. He received land for his service during the war.
John and other family members left Henry County, Virginia (adjoining county), and moved to the Elamsville section of Patrick County.

QUINWOOD, WV -- Charlene Kay Crookshanks O'Dell, 63, of Quinwood, passed away Friday, September 11, 2015, at Heartland of Rainelle, following a long illness.
Born January 12, 1952, at Ronceverte, WV, she was the daughter of the late Arvel Leroy and Bonnie Faye King Crookshanks. Charlene attended the First Baptist Church of Quinwood, and was a homemaker. She was an excellent cook, and loved attending to her flower garden. But she really enjoyed working with the little children during Bible School each summer.

ALBANY--Charles "Red" Milligan, 67, of Meadowbrook Road, Albany, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998, at his residence.
Born May 19, 1931, in Albany, he was the son of Bea Welch Milligan and the late Charles H. Milligan.
He retired from McBee Company in June 1997 with 46 years service. After retirement, he worked part time at the Elm Golf Course. He was a former member of the Athens Motorcycle Club.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mary Cline Milligan; two daughters, Pam (Robert) Ator of Athens, and Peggy Milligan of Worthington; two sons, Greg (Cris) Milligan of Stewart, and Randy Milligan of Athens; four grandchildren, Misti and Roger Cochran of The Plains, and Joseph and Jessica Milligan of Bexley; a brother, Paul (Judy) Milligan of Canton, and a special family friend, Darla Cadle of Albany.

Charles was born August 14, 1941 to the late Relda Morgan Massey and late Charles B. Massey, Sr.

CRAWLEY -- Charles Harold Crane, 83, died after an extended illness on Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at Beverly Health Care in Glasgow, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elsie Murphy Crane; and his parents, Charles Kenna and Clara Janet Crane, all formerly of Crawley.
He is survived by his two daughters, Janet Tharp and her husband, Bill, of Glasgow, and Patricia Wojciechowski and her husband, Don, of Jacksonville, Fla.; his two grandchildren, Melissa Buckley and her husband, Shane, of Glasgow and Patrick Jorgensen of Southampton, England; and his three great-granddaughters, Alexis, Laura and Rachel Buckley of Glasgow.
Mr. Crane was a member of the Big Clear Creek Baptist Church in Rupert, and was retired from Westmoreland Coal Company in Quinwood after 33 years of service.
He was a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving in the European Theater of Operations during World War II and participated in the landing at Normandy on D-Day.
Mr. Crane had also been a member of the Masonic Lodge in Rainelle.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Cooke Funeral Home Chapel, Cedar Grove, with the Rev. John Massey officiating. Entombment will follow the services at Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens at Glasgow. Born Sept. 9, 1946, in Rainelle, Trooper Johnson was a son of John J. and Rowena Robinson Johnson of Wilmington, N.C., formerly of Rainelle.
Trooper Johnson was graduated from the State Police Academy at Institute in 1970 and had lived in Berkeley Springs three years. He was a member of the Rainelle United Methodist Church.
Trooper Johnson served in the Air Force four years and was a member of the Midland Trail Lodge 166, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons.
Other survivors include his wife, Lynda Sue Lively Johnson, formerly of Rainelle; one daughter, Lori Necole, and one son, Jeffrey Bryan, both at home; one sister, Mrs. Leah Rae Wallace of Nelsonville, Ohio; one brother, John J. Johnson, Jr., stationed with the Air Force in Charleston, S.C., and grandmother, Mrs. Mary C. Robinson of South Charleston.

Charles “Chuck” Woodyard, age 77, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015 quietly at home.
He was born the son of Howard T. and Blanche Woodyard on July 1, 1937 in Athens, Ohio.
On July 2, 1977 Chuck married his wife Betty who survives. Also surviving is children: Judy (Rob) Kittridge of Valparaiso; Amy Sutton of Valparaiso; John (Vika) Woodyard of GA; Joellen (Mike) Barker of AZ; Jim (Noriko) Woodyard of GA; sister Linda Klyne of Texas; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Chuck was very well known for his knowledge of Gravely and Allis Chalmers tractors.

Obituary -- Chester Mitchell Bourne
C. Mitchell Bourne, 65, of Charleston and Greenbrier County died suddenly on Sunday, October 20, at his Charleston home.
He is survived by his sisters, Andrea and Beverly; son, Shawn and one grandson.
Mr. Bourne was a retired West Virginia Liquor Commission employee with more than 40 years experience. An avid outdoorsman his entire life, he lived to be in the woods hunting deer and squirrels and tracking bear while at the same time always looking forward to reeling in that prized trout. A 1966 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School, Mitchell also attended Beckley College and the Atlanta School of Diesel Mechanics.
Memorial service will be held Friday, October 25, at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 420 Lee St. W., Charleston. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Christina was born at Greenbrier Valley Hospital to Anna Stone and Johnny Anderson on January 10, 1970.
Christina was a devoted wife and mother who loved the Lord; she most enjoyed cooking and reading her Bible.
Christina was met in heaven by her husband of 20 years, Kenneth Miller of Frankford. Christina is survived by her parents; brothers Michael Anderson and wife Donna, John Anderson and wife Christina “Tina”; two children, Lee “Brent” McClung and Ashley Cornelius and husband John; along with her nieces, nephew, aunts, and uncles.

Clyde Eugene Legg, Jr., 82, of Lewisburg passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023 at his home after a short illness, surrounded by his family.
Born November 14, 1940 in Clay County, WV he was a son of the late Clyde Eugene Legg, Sr. and Beatrice Cozetta Osborne Legg.
Clyde was an active member of Calvary United Methodist Church, was much loved by his children, grandchildren and his family, especially his cat, Abby. He retired as manager from General Glass Company in Charleston, WV and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his lovely wife of 39 years, Emily Burns Legg, a sister, Lenore Hudkins, brother, James Legg and his mother, Bea and father, Clyde.
He is survived by his daughters, Terri A. Cora Ann Meadows, 81, of Elkview, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 25, 2017, at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
She was retired from CAMC, where she worked as a phlebotomist. Cora was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Elkview, where she served in the nursery and other ministries for over 50 years.
Cora is preceded in death by her dad, Charley James Buckland; her mom, Violet Marie Buckland; her sisters, Joyce Marie Adkins, Ruby Ellen Gwinn, Mary Carol Meadows; two infant sisters, Linda Sue and Donna Kay Buckland.

Survivors include his wife Patricia Lynn Snapp Akers, one son, David Akers of Rich Creek, VA, three daughters, Tera Thompson of Bluefield, WV, Tabitha Akers of Princeton, WV and Tiffany White of Narrows, VA, one stepson, Jason Brookman of Princeton, WV, two step daughters, Jessica Braun of Peterstown, WV and Jennifer Thompson of Chicago, IL, two sisters, Neta Thomas of Peterstown, WV and Leta Dunn of Dublin, VA and seventeen grandchildren.

Obituary -- David Dee Cunningham
David Dee Cunningham, Sr., 79, of Rainelle, WV, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Born on March 17, 1942, in Morgantown, WV, the son of the late Homer Dee and V. Maude Powell Cunningham.
David worked as an industrial engineer having retired from ABB after 30+ years of service and was a member of First Baptist Church in Rainelle.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Lee Mitchell Cunningham of Rainelle; daughter, Tammy Lee Robinson & husband James of Crawley; son, David D. Cunningham, Jr. of Alderson; and grandchild, Sydney Leigh Robinson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Rainelle with Pastor Kenny Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery in Clintonville.

Obituary -- David Garland Spangler
WELLSVILLE - David G. Spangler, 56, of Wellsville, died at 4:41 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Shirley E. (Einsig) Spangler. The couple observed their 34th wedding anniversary July 22.
The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will be in Dover Union Cemetery. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Spangler was born Jan. 2, 1945, in York. He was the son of the late Jacob R. and Mildred Z. (Crane) Spangler.
He was a carpenter millwright for York Carpenters Local 191. He was a member of Shiloh American Legion Post 791, Yellow Breeches Angler Club and Wellsville Fire Company; a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association; and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Spangler also is survived by two daughters, Dawn M. Christy of Dover and Kristy A. Spangler of Wellsville; a granddaughter; two brothers, Larry R. Spangler of Wellsville and Lewis G. Obituary -- David Howard Allread
David H. Allread, age 36, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on April 23, 2016 at his residence.
He was born on July 24, 1979 in Dayton, Ohio, to Connie (Varvel) Allread of Greenville, Ohio, and the late Craig Allread.
In addition to his mother David is survived by his, sisters and brothers in law, Kim & Chris Kermeen and Mindy & Derek Saylor both of Greenville; nieces, Krysten Wilson, Alexis Headley and Meghan Kermeen; nephew, Adam Kermeen; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
David fought hard to overcome his struggles in life and his soul is at peace now. He was a beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend. He bowled for several years and enjoyed fishing and being a big kid with his family.
David is preceded in death by his father; daughter, Dannielle Allread; paternal grandparents, Howard & Jayne Allread; and maternal grandparents, Harry & June Varvel.
There will be a service held on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 6:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at a later date in the Greenville Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio.

He was the son of John and Etta Madeline Williams.

Obituary -- David Lewis Sanford
David Lewis Sanford, 67, of Rainelle, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at his home following a long illness.
Born January 4, 1952, on Sims Mountain, Rainelle, he was the son of the late David Bruce and Georgia Hilda Sims Sanford.
David was a graduate of Greenbrier West High School. He worked mainly in lawn care. He loved his work. David had a collection of Hot Wheels that he enjoyed. He was of the Baptist faith. “Big Dave” will be remembered as a faithful friend.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Marion Henry Sanford; and his sister Georgia Karen Henson.
